Marc Valdes’ Bio

Valdes played professionally for the Florida Marlins, Montreal Expos, Houston Astros, and Atlanta Braves, before playing for the Hanshin Tigers and Chunichi Dragons of the Nippon Professional Baseball league in Japan.
Valdes was born in Dayton, Ohio. He attended Jesuit High School (Tampa) and played for their baseball team. He graduated in 1990.
He received an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Florida, where he played for coach Joe Arnold’s Florida Gators baseball team from 1991 to 1993.
He played all or part of six seasons from 1995 in the MLB before playing for three seasons in Japan. After retiring from playing, Valdes was a pitching coach in the Mets organization. He now offers private pitching lessons in Tampa.
